I hope your vacation was restful and fun, We have certainly accomplished quite a bit in our STEAM Academy since we be began back in October.

Getting Ready For The Hour Of Code

The Big Question: How can we give a computer a set of directions and tell it what to do?

Objectives:

  • Learn basics of writing computer code
  • Understand what an algorithm is
  • Understand what a program is

Student Directions:

Part 1 – Keyboarding Practice

Go to the Typing Pal website:

  • Login using your Student ID Number as both your Username & Password
  • Click the Red Learn tab at the top of the screen
  • Continue to work on any of the exercises from Step 1 to step 8

Part 2 – Coding

Go to the Typing Pal website:

  • Login using your Student ID Number as both your Username & Password
  • Click the red Learn tab at the top of the screen
  • Click on the Initial Test link, the icon is a paper airplane
  • Once you complete the Initial Test you many work on any of the exercises in Step 1 

Part 2 – Coding
Go to the Code.org page for Team Beta

  • Click on your name and enter your secret words
  • Scroll down to the sections, The Hour Of Code For All Ages
  • Select Star Wars
  • Have Fun!
